Hello World!
Hello World..!
Well it’s here in living color..! My blog! I’m so excited and I’ve been thinking about this all week. One thing that came to mind was something from the Spiderman comics I’ve read as a kid (ok and sometimes as an adult too!). It was this: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility. It’s been said that words are power. When used in conjunction with the tongue or pen they can love or hurt. They can tear up or build up another person or ourselves when we let them into our belief system. With that said I want it to be known that it is never my intention to denigrate anyone who visits this blog. Hurting people not only does not change them, it is never called for.
I love this quote – “I shall pass this way but once; any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson said: “Every man I meet is my superior in some way. In that, I learn of him.”
If that was true of Ralph Waldo Emerson, isn’t it likely to be a thousand times more true of you and me? Let’s cease thinking of our accomplishments, our wants. Let’s try to figure out the other person’s good points. Be “hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise,” and people will cherish your words and treasure them and repeat them over a lifetime–repeat them years after you have forgotten them.
